🌿 About Me
Hi, I’m Karis James, a student at the CNM studying Naturopathic Nutritional Therapy and founder of Gut Vitality Clinic. I’m also a qualified yoga teacher with a passion for helping women uncover the hidden gut imbalances that can affect digestion, fertility, energy, and overall wellbeing.
My interest in naturopathic nutrition began with my own health struggles. From childhood constipation and years of IBS symptoms, through countless “normal” test results, restrictive diets, and ongoing digestive pain — I came to believe that discomfort was simply my “normal.”
In 2024, after experiencing two pregnancy losses and more inconclusive fertility tests, I finally invested in private gut testing. The results revealed parasites and imbalances that explained so much of what I had been experiencing for years. But when I returned to my GP, I was put on a waiting list for support. I realised that if I wanted answers, I had to take charge of my own health.
That decision led me to study Naturopathic Nutritional Therapy, so I could not only interpret my own results but also guide others who feel overlooked or stuck. My approach blends:
- Root-cause nutrition grounded in evidence-based naturopathy.
- Functional testing for parasites, SIBO, and microbiome imbalances.
- Lifestyle practices like yoga, mindfulness, and nervous system support.
- Natural solutions including herbs, supplements, and whole foods (often from my own allotment).
While I am still completing my qualification, I am building Gut Vitality Clinic as a place for education, resources, and community. My goal is simple: to help you uncover the why behind your symptoms, and create a path towards balance, energy, and hope — whether you’re struggling with bloating, IBS, parasites, or fertility challenges.
Outside of my studies and clinic work, you’ll find me teaching yoga, experimenting with medicinal mushrooms, or growing food and herbs in my allotment. I believe that healing begins with reconnecting to both nature and yourself.
